Ceramic Coating in Lowell, AR

The clean, freshly coated hood of a dark car standing in an open workshop doorway, with an Arkansas treeline in the daylight beyond it.

A hard, slick layer bonded to the paint. It holds gloss for years instead of months and it makes the car dramatically easier to keep clean.

Wax sits on the paint and washes off. A coating chemically bonds to it and stays, which is the whole difference: you are not re-doing this every three months.

What you notice day to day is water and dirt refusing to hold on. Rain sheets off, bugs and bird mess come off with far less scrubbing, and the car looks washed for longer between washes.

What it does not do — read this one

  • A coating is NOT chip protection. It is microns thick. It will not stop a stone off the highway and it will not stop a scratch from a careless wash. If that is what you are after, you want paint protection film, and the two are confused more often than anything else in this trade.
  • It does not make the car scratch-proof. It resists light swirls from washing better than bare paint does. That is the claim, and it is the honest one.
  • It does not fix the paint it goes onto. A coating locks in whatever is under it — including swirls and dullness — which is why paint correction is the conversation that has to happen first.

What it actually gets you

It washes in half the time

Dirt sits on top of the coating instead of keying into the clear coat. Most of it comes off with the hose before a mitt touches the car.

The gloss stays

A wax is gone in weeks. This is rated for five years and holds its shine through them.

Bird mess and sap stop etching

They still need cleaning off — but they are sitting on the coating, not burning into the paint while you are at work.

It is not armour

Read the block above. If you want chip protection you want film, and we would rather tell you that than take the money.

How long it lasts

Coatings are sold by durability. The longer-lasting products are harder to apply and need the paint underneath to be in better shape, which is why the tier and the prep are the same conversation.

Living with it

  • Before collection

The car stays with us about two days while the coating cures. It leaves when it is ready, not when the clock says so.

  • First wash

Leave it a week. Rain is fine; what you want to avoid in the first days is detergent and anything abrasive.

  • Washing

Two buckets and a soft mitt, or a touchless wash. The coating is doing the hard work; what ruins one is a brush wash putting swirls straight through it.

What happens to your car

  • Before anything goes on — the surface is stripped and decontaminated. Skipping this is why cheap work lifts at the edges in two summers.
  • Cut to your vehicle — patterned and trimmed to the panel or the glass, not to a rough shape.
  • Laid and worked — squeegeed, heat-shrunk where the shape needs it.
  • Out — typical turnaround 2 days. Booked in advance for anything longer than a day.

The other three films

The front of a dark car in a workshop, lit hard from one side. A hairline of light runs along the leading edge of the hood — the only visible sign that film has been laid over it. Road mist and grit sit on the lower bumper.

Paint Protection Film

Clear urethane over the panels that take the damage. The film gets chipped instead of the paint, and the paint underneath stays factory.

A large sheet of deep satin vinyl being worked down over a car's rear door and wing with a felt-edged squeegee, held in a gloved hand. The satin surface reads clearly as film rather than paint.

Vinyl Wraps

A new colour without touching the paint, or one panel done in something the factory never offered. It comes off again, and the paint under it comes out the same as it went in.

The view out through a tinted front side window on a hot afternoon. An Arkansas hardwood treeline and low hills are clearly visible through the glass, while the cabin side of it sits in shade.

Window Tint

Cuts the heat, kills the glare, and stops the interior fading. Cut to the Arkansas legal limit, because the alternative is a fine and stripping it off at your own cost.
