Wicked Auto Films Paint Protection Film Rogers

Paint Protection Film in Rogers

A large sheet of clear film being squeegeed down onto the wet hood of a dark car. Half of it is laid flat and already invisible against the paint; the other half is still lifted and catching the light.

Chip protection for a car that spends its life between Pinnacle Hills and the I-49 on-ramp.

Rogers is the closest of the six towns to the shop, and a Rogers car has a particular pattern to it: a lot of short runs around Pinnacle Hills and Walnut Street, then a burst of motorway when it goes anywhere else. Both halves damage paint, and they do it differently.

Two kinds of damage, one film

Highway speed is where stone chips come from. Car parks are where scuffs and trolley marks come from. Paint protection film handles the first properly — it is built to absorb an impact — and it will take the edge off the second.

What it will not do is stop a door opening into your wing. Nothing short of parking further away does that, and any shop that tells you otherwise is selling.

Where the film goes

  • Bumper and the leading edge of the bonnet, which take almost all of the stone damage
  • Wing mirrors, which sit exactly where debris passes
  • Behind the front wheels, where your own tyres throw grit at your own paint
  • Door edges and the loading lip of the boot, if you want the car covered where hands and bags go
